How It Happened:
Game 1: A tightly-contested contest through and through, it was the difference of one inning in this one. A two-run bottom of the third was the only scoring done in this contest, with Palmer entering in relief and taking care of business for the rest of the contest. With a few opportunities, FMU was able to shut the bats of the Cobras to hold on for the 2-0 victory.
Game 2: In a better offensive performance, the Patriots got into more of a groove and made sure Coker's two runs were answered for, and then some. FMU scored 11 runs combined in the third and fourth innings to take a big win, while the Cobras will look to get some wins back tomorrow as they continue their opening weekend.
Notables
Four freshmen made their debuts for the Cobras in the form of Brooklyn Lovin, Dakota Slack, Emma Rushing, and Gaskins. Be on the lookout for these girls as they get more college game experience under their belts and continue to grow.
Up Next
The Cobras will head right back into action, facing off against Claflin tomorrow on the road. Start times for those games are currently 1 & 3 PM ET.
