Cobras Drop Their Doubleheader vs. Mount Olive

Game 1:

Mount Olive takes the doubleheader matchup against Coker on February 15, 2024, the Trojans took game one with a final score of 13-5.

The game started slow, with both teams failing to score in the first inning. However, Mount Olive quickly gained momentum in the second inning, scoring 3 runs. A single by A. Smothers brought in the first run, followed by a fielder's choice by O. Reardon, and a groundout by M. Millard.

Coker got on the board in the second inning with a solo home run by Cameron Jackson, but Mount Olive responded in the third inning with another run, courtesy of a single by K. Emanuele.

In the fifth inning, Mount Olive extended their lead with a double by C. Shrock, bringing in another run. However, Coker fought back in the bottom of the fifth with a three-run homer by Cheyenne Palmer, narrowing the gap to 5-4.

Mount Olive regained control in the sixth inning, with A. Efird's single bringing in an unearned run. L. Best then walked, bringing in another run. In the seventh inning, Mount Olive continued to dominate, with O. Reardon's double and A. Porter's single adding two more runs. C. Shrock then hit a double, bringing in two more runs, followed by a double by L. Best, bringing in one more run. K. Emanuele's single in the same inning added the final run for Mount Olive.

Coker managed to score one more run in the bottom of the seventh with a double by Delaney Eaves, but it was not enough to overcome Mount Olive's commanding lead.

Overall, Mount Olive's hitting and consistent scoring throughout the game proved to be the key to their victory in game 1.

Game 2: 

In Game 2 Mount Olive took the win against Coker with a final score of 11-6.

Coker started off strong in the first inning, scoring four runs. K. Scott scored the first run after D. Eaves reached on a fielder's choice. C. Jackson then hit a three-run homer, bringing in C. Palmer and D. Eaves.

Mount Olive responded in the fourth inning, with C. Curcio hitting a single to left field and bringing in K. Emanuele. A. Efird then hit a grand slam, scoring O. Reardon, C. Curcio, and A. Smothers.

In the fifth inning, Mount Olive's E. Mooney scored after C. Shrock was caught stealing second base.

Coker managed to score one run in the sixth inning when D. Eaves hit a single to left field, bringing in Ariana Fair.

Mount Olive continued to dominate in the seventh inning. C. Shrock hit a solo home run, and K. Emanuele doubled to center field, bringing in L. Best. M. Millard then hit a single to left field, scoring T. Ennis and A. Smothers. C. Cooney hit a single to left field, bringing in M. Millard and T. Ennis.

Coker's C. Jackson hit another home run in the seventh inning, bringing the final score to 11-6 in favor of Mount Olive.
