Softball Splits on the Road Against the Lions

Mars Hill, NC. - Coker headed up North to Mars Hill to take on the Lions. The Cobras took on Mars Hill in a South Atlantic Conference doubleheader as the teams split the series. Coker finished the day strong as they took control of game 2.


How it Happened Game 1: 
Mars Hill put together a great first game as they were able to jump to an early lead and maintain it for the win. The Cobras had a total of eight, one RBI. Kelsi Scott, Cameron Jackson, and Chloe Pelham all collected hits in game one. Ariana Fair and Brooklynn Stueness both had multiple hits in game one with Fair with 2 and a stolen base and Stueness with 3 hits. The Lions took the first game against the Cobras 7-1.


How it Happened Game 2:

The Cobras woke up game 2 as Kayla Oswell got things cooking for the team with a single up the middle scoring Pelham. Stueness doubled at the top of the 3rd scoring Scott and giving the team a 2-0 lead. Pelham doubled right after her going up the middle scoring Stueness. Jackson came up at the top of the 5th finding a gap and scoring Scott. Caitlyn Wray singled up the middle in the 6th scoring Tibby Hessian. Stueness singled to center field scoring Fair and Scott. The Cobras went on to win game two 7-4. Cobras ended the game with 9 hits, 7 RBIs, and 3 stolen bases. Hessian collected 5 strikeouts on the day.
