Softball falls to Tusculum

HARTSVILLE, S.C. - The Coker University softball team dropped its conference doubleheader to Tusculum today by scores of 8-0 and 12-4.

 

Game One

The Pioneer's offense would come out hot as they would score two in the second inning and tack on another run in the fourth bringing the game score to 3-0. 

In the fifth Tusculum would score two more runs, and three in the seventh from a home run to bring the final score to 8-0. 

Coker would total six hits in game one with Bailey Douglas and Kayla Oswell recording two each. 

 

Game Two

 

Tusculum would jump out to a 5-0 lead in the third 

In the fourth Chloe Pelham would get the Cobras on the board when she would send a solo home run over the center field wall to cut into the Pioneer lead.

Brooklyn Stueness would follow Pelham's homer up later in the fourth when she would send a 2 RBI double to right center, scoring Caitlyn Wray and Bailey Douglas bringing the game score to 5-3 in favor of Tusculum. 

Tusculum would send a three run home run over the center field wall to extend their lead to 8-3. 

In the sixth the Pioneers would score four more runs to bring their game score to 12-3.

In the bottom of the sixth Julie Hiliard's single down the left field line would score Brooklyn Stueness.
