GAFFNEY, S.C.- The Coker University softball team split their double header matchup between the Limestone University Saints today, dropping game one by a score of 4-2 and winning game two 6-2.
Game One
Limestone would jump out ahead in the second inning when they would score four runs. Coker would attempt a comeback in the fifth from Ava Jay's single, scoring Mckenzie Harmon and Brooklyn Stueness bringing the final game score to 4-2.
Game Two
Brooklyn Stueness would score early in the first from a Limestone wild pitch, putting Coker up 1-0.
The Saints would tie things up at 1-1 in the fourth inning.
The Cobras would regain their lead in the fifth from Bailey Douglas's 2 RBI single down the left field line and again when Hannah Davis scored on a wild pitch putting Coker up 4-1.
Limestone would cut into the Coker lead later on in the sixth bringing the score to 4-2.
The Cobras would seal the win Cierra Watts single to right scoring Ava Jay and Hannah Davis to bring the final game score 6-2.
