Cobras and Railsplitters Square Off in SAC Doubleheader

HARTSVILLE, S.C. – The Coker College softball team will look to improve its 3-1 South Atlantic Conference record as they host the visiting Lincoln Memorial University Railsplitters on Saturday (Mar. 21) in a SAC doubleheader. Live coverage of the games will be available at www.cokercobras.com.

The Navy and Yellow are coming off a SAC road sweep of the Catawba Indians.

The Cobras are led offensively by the trio of Riley Morris, Ashley Gallman and Ashlee Ellen. Morris is batting .435 on the season which is fourth best in the SAC.  She has belted seven home runs, which is third in the conference, and has plated a conference sixth best 27 RBIs. Gallman is batting .392 and has a conference leading nine doubles on the season. Ellen has a .353 season batting average along with 20 RBIs.

Tabitha Allen's 10 wins and 1.35 ERA are tops in the SAC.

The Railsplitters hit the road with a 9-11 overall record and a 1-1 in conference record. They are led by Meredith Johnson and her .306 batting average, four home runs and 13 RBIs

Game one is set to begin at 1 p.m. with game two starting at 3 p.m. at Saleeby-Stokes softball field. Tickets for the game are available at the gate. Cost is $5 for adults, $3 for students and all Coker faculty, staff and students get in free.
