
Weatherford Named Conference Carolinas Player of the Week
Softball player Sydney Weatherford has been named the conference player of the week.
HARTSVILLE, S.C. – Coker College's Sydney Weatherford has been named the Conference Carolinas Softball Player of the Week.
Weatherford, a junior from Scranton, S.C., led the Cobras to a pair of victories over St. Andrews University last week. She went 4-fot-7 in the doubleheader with a homer, seven RBIs, three runs and a steal.
Through six games this season, Weatherford, a center fielder, is hitting .389 with a home run, eight RBIs, four runs and one steal.
Weatherford is an education major with an elementary education concentration. She is the daughter of Joey and Deanna Weatherford.
Coker is off to a 4-2 start to the season. The Cobras head to Francis Marion for a non-conference doubleheader on Thursday.
