HARTSVILLE, S.C. – Sydney Weatherford, Bryant McLendon and Stacy Burr were named to the Conference Carolinas All-Conference softball teams.
"All three of these girls deserved it," said head coach David Hanna. "They each had great years and I'm proud of them. They're all younger players, too, so we are looking forward to having them in our program for many more years."
Weatherford (Scranton, S.C.) made the first team as an outfielder. She hit .347 with eight home runs, 37 RBIs, scored 28 runs and swiped seven bases during the regular season. Weatherford is a sophomore early childhood education and elementary education double major.
McLendon (Lake City, S.C.) made the second team as a designated player. She finished the regular season at .305 with three home runs, 14 RBIs and eight runs. McLendon is a freshman early childhood education and elementary education double major.
Burr (Darlington, S.C.) was named to the second team as a catcher. She posted a .339 average with eight homers, 38 RBIs, 24 runs and two steals. Burr is a sophomore physical education major with a concentration in exercise science.
The Conference Carolinas All-Conference Teams were determined by vote from each head coach of participating league institutions. Awards were presented at the league banquet.
Conference Carolinas is a NCAA Division II athletic conference made up of 12 teams from North Carolina, South Carolina and Tennessee. These institutions consist of Barton College, Belmont Abbey College, Coker College, Converse College, Erskine College, King College, Lees-McRae College, Limestone College, Mount Olive College, North Greenville University, Pfeiffer University and Queens University of Charlotte.
