Lander Slips Past Coker

GREENWOOD, S.C. – The Coker softball team dropped both games of their non-conference doubleheader to Lander University on Tuesday afternoon. The Cobras narrowly lost game one 3-2 and lost game two, 4-0.

In the first game, Katie Lee (Debray, Fla.) (5-4) was saddled with the loss, allowing two run on six hits in 1.2 innings of work.

Sydney Weatherford (Scranton, S.C.) had a home run with an RBI and a run scored and Logan Cox (Georgetown, S.C.) was 1-for-1 with an RBI.

Becky Dillon (West Palm Beach, Fla.) (6-6) took the loss in game two. She allowed three runs on seven hits in 2.2 innings.

Weatherford, Jaclin Poole (Clover, S.C.), Katelyn Szupello (Port Orange, Fla.) and Kentesha Jenkins (Darlington, S.C.) each collected hits for the Cobras.

Coker returns to the diamond for a Conference Carolinas doubleheader on Thursday, April 12 at King College. First pitch is scheduled for 1 p.m.
