Mount Olive Takes Two From Coker

HARTSVILLE, S.C. – The Coker softball team suffered a pair of Conference Carolinas losses to Mount Olive College on Wednesday losing 3-2 in eight innings and 11-0.

GAME ONE

Coker held a 2-0 advantage entering the sixth inning of game one, but Mount Olive tied the game with a run in the sixth and another in the seventh. The Trojans earned the eventual win with their third run in as many innings in the top of the eighth.

Katie Lee (Debray, Fla.) had a season high 10 strikeouts in seven innings in the circle for the Cobras. Jordan Atkinson (Bishopville, S.C.) (1-4) was tagged with the loss, allowing one run in an inning of work.

Sarah Rountree (Plantation, Fla.) was 1-for-3 with three stolen bases and Bryant McLendon (Lake, City, S.C.) drove in a run for the Cobras.

GAME TWO

Logan Cox (Georgetown, S.C.) (5-3) took the loss in game two. She allowed six runs on 10 hits in 3.2 innings of work.

Sydney Weatherford (Scranton, S.C.) had a triple to lead the Cobras at the plate.
