Coker Softball Shuts Out St. Andrews in Conference Softball Action

LAURINBURG, S.C. – Katie Lee (Debray, Fla.) and Logan Cox (Georgetown, S.C.) pitched a pair of shutouts as they Cobra softball team swept the St. Andrews Knights in their Conference Carolinas doubleheader on Sunday. Coker won both games by run differential, winning game won 10-0 and game two 9-0.

Lee (4-2) gave up just three hits in the game one victory. She also struck out three. Cox (5-2) tossed a 5.1 inning shutout, allowing four hits with two strikeouts in game two.

Jaclin Poole (Clover, S.C.), Stacy Burr (Darlington, S.C.) and Sydney Weatherford (Scranton, S.C.) led the offense with a home run each. Poole finished the day with three hits and four RBIs. Burr had two hits with an RBI and Weatherford had four hits and six RBIs.

Coker will return to the field for another Conference Carolinas doubleheader on Wednesday at home against Mount Olive College. First pitch is scheduled for 2 p.m.
