
Coker Falls to Anderson
The Coker softball team suffered a pair of losses to Anderson University on Saturday.
ANDERSON, S.C. – Stacy Burr (Darlington, S.C.) hit her fifth home run of the season and drove in a pair of runs, but it was not enough as the Cobra softball team suffered a pair of losses to the Anderson Trojans on Saturday afternoon. Coker lost game one 5-2 and then lost game two 9-1 in five innings.
Logan Cox (Georgetown, S.C.) (2-2) was the losing pitcher in game one. She allowed five runs on six hits in four innings of work.
In game two, Becky Dillon (West Palm Beach, Fla.) (1-3) allowed six runs on five hits in 3.2 innings on the mound in the loss.
Burr was the Cobras leading hitter going 2-for-5 with a home run, two RBIs and a run scored in two games. Sarah Rountree (Plantation, Fla.) had three hits and Cox had a pair of hits with an RBI.
The Cobras will be back on the field on Sunday at Francis Marion University. First pitch is scheduled for noon.
