SPARTANBURG, S.C. – The Cobra softball team opened play at the Mid-South Tournament in Spartanburg on Friday night with a 7-3 loss to #22 Flagler University. The loss drops Coker to 6-5 on the season.

Jordan Atkinson (Bishopville, S.C.) (2-2) suffered the loss allowing seven runs on four hits in three innings of work.

Sarah Rountree (Plantation, Fla.) was the Cobras leading hitter going 2-for-4 with a double two RBIs and a run scored, while Jenny Sanborn (Beaufort, S.C.) was 3-for-4. Bri Jacobs (Bolton, N.C.) also had a pair of hits for Coker.

The Cobras will continue their play at the Mid-South Tournament with a pair of games on Saturday against North Georgia and Tusculum. Their first game will be at 1:00 p.m. against North Georgia, followed by a game at 5:00 p.m. versus Tusculum.
