HARTSVILLE, S.C. – Coker College Head Softball Coach David Hanna announced the signing of Katie Szupello to a National Letter of Intent to play softball for the Cobras in 2011-12. Szupello comes to Coker from Spruce Creek High School in Port Orange, Fla.

Szupello is a 2010 First Team All-Area selection and was named the 2010 Offensive Player of the Year at Spruce Creek. She batted .533 with 36 RBIs, 21 stolen bases, four home runs, five doubles and six triples. Katie also did some pitching, earning herself an ERA of 1.34.

Szupello becomes one of three players signed by Coach Hanna during the early signing period to play for the Cobras during the 2012 season.
