SPARTANBURG, S.C. – The Lady Cobra Softball team dropped a pair of games at the Mid-South Classic on Saturday afternoon. Coker lost their first game of the day 10-0 to Carson-Newman and then they lost game to 6-2 to East Stroudsburg University. The losses drop the Lady Cobras to 1-2 in the tournament and 5-6 on the year.

In game one, Carson-Newman held Coker to just two hits, with Brittany Owens (Johnsonville, S.C.) hitting a double and Sarah Price (Little Rock, S.C.) picking up the Lady Cobras other hit.

Sydney Greenwalt (Edwardsville, Ill.) (4-3) took the loss on the mound allowing four runs on four hits in two innings of work. Beck Dillon (West Palm Beach, Fla.) threw three innings in relief, allowing six runs on four hits with four strikeouts.

Game two against East Stroudsburg saw Jaclin Poole (Clover, S.C.) lead the offensive attack with two hits, including a two-run home run, while Haleigh Rogers (Ward, S.C.) also had two hits for the Lady Cobras.

Jordan Atkinson (Bishopville, S.C.) (1-1) was credited with the loss, allowing six runs on nine hits with four strikeouts in 6.1 innings of work.

The Lady Cobras will complete their weekend at the Mid-South Classic on Sunday starting at 10:00 a.m. Coker takes on Lincoln Memorial in their first game of the day, followed by Catawba College starting at noon.
