SPARTANBURG, S.C. – The Coker softball team picked up their first win of the weekend at the Mid-South Classic in Spartanburg, S.C. on Friday night, as they Lady Cobras defeated North Greenville University 7-6. The win improves the Lady Cobras to 5-4 on the year.

Sydney Greenwalt (Edwardsville, Ill.) (4-2) earned her fourth win of the season going five innings, allowing four runs on four hits. Jordan Atkinson (Bishopville, S.C.) (1) earned her first collegiate save coming on in relief, allowing two runs on two hits in two innings on the hill for the Lady Cobras.

Anna Oswald (Lexington, S.C.) was the offensive power behind the Coker attack at the plate. She was 2-for-2 on the day with two home runs and two RBIs, while Jaclin Poole (Clover, S.C.) was 1-for-3 with a double and Bri Jacobs (Bolton, N.C.) and Haleigh Rogers (Ward, S.C.) each had an RBI.

Coker returns to the diamond for day two of the Mid-South Classic tomorrow. The Lady Cobras will take on Carson-Newman College at 10:00 a.m., followed by East Stroudsburg University at noon.
