ANDERSON, S.C. -- Shelly Catlett pitched two complete games and Coker collected 16 hits in two games on its way to a sweep of Anderson University in a Conference Carolinas doubleheader Sunday afternoon at Smethers Field.
Coker won the first game, 8-0, then took the nightcap, 5-3.

The sweep improves Coker to 32-10 overall and 17-1 in the conference. Anderson now stands at 19-19, 10-10.

In the first game, Catlett struck out seven and allowed just four hits to lead the Cobras to an 8-0 victory.

Coker scored three unearned runs in the first inning after a dropped fly ball with two outs, one of five Anderson errors, allowed the first run to score. Eunice Nettles followed the error with a two-run single to give the Cobras a 3-0 lead.

Coker added two runs in the fifth on a two-run homer over the scoreboard in center field by Kimberly Atkinson.

In the seventh, two more Anderson errors and a pair of run-scoring singles by Anna Lucus and Catlett led to three more runs for the Cobras.

Lucas and Catlett both had two hits apiece for Coker in the first game.

In the second game, Coker failed to take advantage of some wild Anderson pitching but still managed to pull out a 5-3 victory.

Coker was issued 10 walks in the second game, but none of the walks scored. The Cobras stranded 14 runners in the second game.

Coker scored single runs in the first three innings then added two more in the fourth.

Trailing 2-0, Anderson finally broke through against Catlett in the second on back-to-back doubles by Kasey King and Melissa Carmichael.

Coker had back-to-back RBI doubles in the fourth by Lucas and Miranda Klees.

Anderson got the go-ahead run to the plate in the seventh, but Catlett recorded her seventh strikeout of the second game to end it.

Klees led Coker in the second game with three hits in four trips. Haleigh Rogers and Whitney Wallett both had two hits apiece for the Cobras.

Kayla Williams and Lora Daniel had two hits apiece for Anderson. Daniel also drove in two of Anderson's three runs.
