Raleigh, N.C. – The Coker College Lady Cobras Softball Team traveled to Raleigh, NC, today to face the Shaw University Bears in a non-conference doubleheader. Coker both games, winning game one in five innings, 15-0, and winning game two 8-1. The wins bring the Cobras just over .500, 10-9, for the year.

In game one, Sydney Greenwalt (Edwardsville, IL) picked up the win going five innings, allowing just one hit with no runs and 11 strike outs.

Ashton Williamson (Pelion, SC) was 3-for-4 at the plate, while Jennifer Diemer (Arnold, MD) was 1-for-3 with a home run and Eunice Nettles (Pelion, SC) was 1-for-2 with a double. Miranda Klees (Murrells Inlet, SC) was the only other Lady Cobras to pick up multiple hits in the game, going 2-for-3.

Greenwalt picked up her second win of the day in game two, this time throwing a complete seven innings, allowing just one Bear run on five hits with 12 strike outs.

Diemer belted her second homer of the day as she was 1-for-2 with a home run and three RBIs in game two. Nettles also hit a home run, going 1-for-2 with a homer and two RBIs, while Jessica Blackwell (Hartsville, SC) was 1-for-4 with a home run. Whitney Watts (Conway, SC) was the only Coker player with multiple hits in game two, going 2-for-4 with a double.

The Lady Cobras continue their road warrior ways on their spring break, as they travel to North Carolina Central University on Wednesday, for another non-conference doubleheader starting at 2:00 p.m.
