Catawba, N.C. – In their final day of play at the Catawba Softball Tournament, the Coker Lady Cobras Softball team dropped their final two games, losing to #2 ranked Lockhaven 3-1 in their first game, before losing game two to Indiana University of PA 6-5. The losses drop the Lady Cobras to 8-9 overall.

In game one, Shelly Catlett (Orangeburg, SC) (5-5) took the loss going all seven innings, allowing three runs on four hits with seven strike outs.

Offensively for the Lady Cobras, Eunice Nettles (Pelion, SC) was a perfect 3-for-3, while Ashton Williamson (Pelion, SC), Jessica Blackwell (Hartsville, SC), Whitney Wallett (Shermans Dale, PA) and Julia Nelson-Abbott (Evans, GA) each had a hit in the game.

In game two, Sydney Greenwalt (Edwardsville, IL) (3-4) took the loss, going three innings, allowing five runs on seven hits, while Catlett pitched four innings of relief allowing one run on two hits with seven strike outs.

At the plate in game two, Miranda Klees (Murrells Inlet, SC) was 1-for-1 with a home run and two RBIs, while Ashley Coleman (Charleston, SC) was 1-for-3 with two RBIs and Haleigh Rogers (Ward, SC) was also 1-for-3 with an RBI. Nettles was 2-for-3 and Blackwell and Kimberly Atkinson (McBee, SC) each collected a hit in the game.

Coker returns home for their next games, a double-header against Limestone College on Tuesday, starting at 2:00 p.m.
