Thomasville, N.C.> Coker College’s Kimberly Atkinson (3-5 overall, 2-0 conf.) has been selected as the NCAA Division II Conference Carolinas softball Player of the Week during week number two in the 2008 season. Kimberly Atkinson hit three home runs in three consecutive at-bats, including a game winning two-run walk-off home run, against Belmont Abbey for a 6-4 win. Behind Atkinson's offensive power, the Lady Cobras were able to sweep their first Conference Carolinas series of the season. For the week Atkinson had an astounding .538 batting average, with four home runs, eight RBI and five runs scored.
