Game One saw the Saints jump out to an early 1-0 lead, but Coker would answered with two runs of their own in the bottom half of the first. The Cobras added their final three runs in the third off a pair of doubles from Jessica Blackwell and Kimberly Atkinson, along with a two-run home run from Kayla Buchowski.
Somer Bigham (11-4) earned the win, throwing a complete game, allowing one run on six hits, while striking out eight.
For Limestone, Jennifer Casement took the loss, allowing five runs on nine hits in six innings of work, with six strike outs.
Atkinson led the Cobras going 3-for-3 with two doubles and an RBI, while Buchowski was 1-for-3 with a home run and two RBIs.
The Saints offense was led by Jessica Brown, who was 2-for-2 with a double and Kristen Spicer, going 1-for-3 with an RBI.
In Game two, Limestone turned the tables on Coker defeating the Cobras 10-3. Limestone jumped out to an early 2-0 lead in the first, but Coker would cut the deficit with a run in the bottom of the first. Unfortunately for the Cobras that would be all the offense they would manage, as the Saints scored two runs in the third and a run in the fourth and the fifth.
Coker got some revenge as Shelly Catlett collected her first collegiate hit, as well as her first collegiate home run, and Anna Lucas also homered cutting the lead to 6-3. Limestone would add four insurance runs in the seventh to sure the victory.
Coker starter Amanda Shelton (8-5) took the loss, going four innings, allowing five runs on eight hits, with eight strike outs.
Limestone’s Candice Evans earned the win tossing seven innings allowing three runs off six hits, while striking out eight.
Leading the Cobras offense in game two was Catlett going 1-for-2 with a home run and an RBI, while Lucas was 1-for-3 with a home run and an RBI.
For the Saints, Keisha Thompson was 4-for-5 with an RBI and a run scored, while Evans was 2-for-4 with a double and three RBIs.
The Lady Cobras return to the field tomorrow as they host Belmont Abbey at 2:00 p.m.
