Hartsville, SC- Lees-McRae and Coker Split their CVAC softball doubleheader on Saturday, as the Cobras lost eh opener 1-0 and won the second game 2-1.
The Bobcats used extra innings to defeat the Cobras in game one, before Coker rallied in the fifth inning of the second game to earn the split.
In the first game, a fielding error allowed Emma Parrish to score, giving the Bobcats the win and improving them to 7-9 overall, and 3-7 in the CVAC.
The Bobcats’ Hanna Morgan earned the win tossing eight innings, struck out two, walked two and allowed three hits. Amanda Shelton took the loss for Coker, who dropped to 11-3 overall, and 4-2 in the CVAC.
Game two, saw Christan Morabito hit a sacrifice fly that allowed Jamie Horton to score the go ahead run in the fifth inning.
Somer Bigham (5-1) earned the win for the Cobras. She struck out 13, walked three, and allowed four hits and a walk.
Coker returns to action on Friday, March 10, as they travel to the Francis Marion Softball Tournament.
