Hartsville, SC- Coker Softball Coach David Hanna announced the signing of three players to National Letters of Intent, on Monday. Allie Bragg of Cassette, SC, Julia Nelson-Abbott of Evans, GA, and Katie McCauley of Churchville, MD, all signed play for Coker in the 2006-2007 season during the early signing period.

 

Bragg is a first baseman from Lugolf-Elgin High School, where she was a four year starter on both the softball and volleyball teams. She was named to the All-Region Team twice in softball and three times in volleyball, and was All-State in softball in 2003 and volleyball in 2005. Allie has also signed to play volleyball for Coker.

 

Julia Nelson-Abbott is a second baseman from Evans High School, where she had a .387 batting average and was the team leader in stolen bases. She has been named to the All-Region Team twice and was Defense Player of the Year, as well as the Coaches Award recipient for Evans High.

 

McCauley is a catcher from C. Milton High School. She batted .355 and was named 2nd Team All-Metro and All County. She was also named USSSA World Series MVP.

 

Coach Hanna is very excited to have them join the Cobra Softball Team and he looks to have all three step in and help his ball club right away.

 

The Cobras open the 2006 season on February 3, at Claflin University.
