In his first season as the Assistant Coach for Coker's Men's & Women's Cross Country & Track & Field teams, Dawkins was able to help coach the Men's and Women's Cross Country teams to a 13th overall team finish in the South Atlantic Conference Championship meet.

Mykal Dawkins was a student-athlete at Roanoke College who is joining the coaching staff at Coker. He was a member of the Indoor/Outdoor Track and Field Team, where he competes in various events. Dawkins is also a member of the Beekeeping Society at Roanoke College, where he learned about and practices of beekeeping. Mykal has a Bachelor of Science degree in Health and Exercise Science from Roanoke College in Salem, VA, which was completed in May 2018. Dawkins has received honors for his athletic achievements. He was named an All-ODAC Athlete in both 2016 and 2018, recognizing his outstanding performance in track and field. This accolade highlights his dedication and skill in his chosen sport.
