Coker Men's Cross Country Achieves Several Personal Best Records at Royals XC Challenge

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The Coker University men's cross country team traveled to Charlotte, N.C. to compete in the Royals XC Challenge on Friday (Oct. 11).

The Cobras had several personal-best marks, including Riley Cushing who lead the way for the Cobras with a time of 28:01.2. Murishi Irankunda came in second for the Cobras, beating his personal best by nearly a minute for a time of 29:56.0, while freshman Breckyn Hunter took two minutes off of his personal best with a time of 31:52.3.

Coker finished with a total score of 1628 placing them 25 points ahead of conference competitor UVa-Wise. The Cobras also finished ahead of Paine (1752), Elizabeth City State (1789) and Johnson C. Smith (1846).

Coker will be back in action when they travel to Wingate, N.C. for the South Atlantic Conference Championships on Saturday (Oct. 26) with the start time scheduled for 9:00 a.m.
