Cobras Fall to Queens in IVA Tournament Semifinal

HARROGATE, Tenn. - The Coker College men's volleyball team fell 3-1 in the IVA Tournament semifinal against Queens on Friday (Apr. 12). The Cobras fought off the sweep by taking the third set but the Royals would fight back to grab the deciding fourth set to move on to the finals. 

Absalon Williams put on a show as he notched 16 kills to lead the attack, his highest output this season. Williams was joined in double figures by Gabriel Castro and Manuel Hernandez who each had 12 kills while Joao Victor Santos was just behind with 11 kills. Max Kuntz also added seven kills. Brandon Ravelo, fresh off of being named the Independent Teams Freshman of the Year, dished out a game-high 51 assists. Santos led the Cobras in digs with 11 while Castro, Ravelo, and Seth Miller each chipped in with eight. 

The Cobras will close out the season in the consolation game at the IVA Tournament starting at 11:00 AM against the loser of the contest between Lincoln Memorial and Daemen.
