Cobras Complete Season-Sweep of Battlers
The Coker College men’s volleyball team finished their road schedule at Alderson Broaddus, winning 3-1 (25-19, 29-27, 19-25, 27-25) in their second meeting of the season. With the win, the Cobras are nearly guaranteed to close 2018 with a winning record.
PHILIPPI, W. Va.- The Coker College men's volleyball team finished their road schedule at Alderson Broaddus, winning 3-1 (25-19, 29-27, 19-25, 27-25) in their second meeting of the season. With the win, the Cobras are nearly guaranteed to close 2018 with a winning record.
Joao Victor Santos once again reached the 20 kill mark, the fifth time this season, with 20-flat. He added an assist, four service aces, three digs, and a block assist. Gary Baker collected three assists and 12 digs, the team-high, on the day. Gabriel Castro contributed 14 kills, one ace, six digs, and a solo block to the winning effort. Stephen Porras hit a fiery .393 on his way to 15 kills, alongside an assist and seven digs. Parker Oldham ended with four digs and a solo block. Aleksa Bijelic excelled in the setting position, sending out 44 assists, along with a kill, an ace, four digs, and had the team-high two total blocks.
The Navy and Gold will celebrate Senior Day in their final home match of 2018 on Friday, April 6, against Lincoln Memorial. First serve is set for 7:00 p.m.
