Cobras Strike Down the Knights
The Coker men’s volleyball team played host to the St. Andrews Knights Tuesday (Jan. 23) night. The Cobras were victorious in four sets, 3-1 (21-25, 25-14, 25-18, 25-17).
HARTSVILLE, S.C.- The Coker men's volleyball team played host to the St. Andrews Knights Tuesday (Jan. 23) night. The Cobras were victorious in four sets, 3-1 (21-25, 25-14, 25-18, 25-17).
Tied with nine kills apiece, Gabriel Castro and Joao Victor Santos led Coker offensively. Stephen Porras was just behind with eight. Aleksa Bijelic finished with 28 assists in the setting position and had a team-high 10 digs. Gary Baker was second with his eight digs.
The team collected 10 service aces, highlighted by Castro's three. Every server earned at least one ace throughout the match. Collectively, every front row player had a minimum of two block assists, totalling 20. Joao Victor Santos led the way with six, while James Fulton (4), Castro (3), and Parker Oldham (3) followed suit.
The Navy and Gold hit the road for a six game road trip before returning to the friendly confines of the DeLoach Center. They return to action on Feb. 6 at Barton with the match starting at 7:00 p.m.
