Cobras Start 2018 Strong In Defeat of Lions
The Coker College men’s volleyball opened up the 2018 season by visiting the Emmanuel (Ga.) College Lions Friday (Jan. 12) night and earned a 3-1 (25-22, 29-27, 23-25, 25-21) victory.
FRANKLIN SPRINGS, Ga.- The Coker College men's volleyball opened up the 2018 season by visiting the Emmanuel (Ga.) College Lions Friday (Jan. 12) night and earned a 3-1 (25-22, 29-27, 23-25, 25-21) victory.
Gabriel Castro led the Cobra offensive attack totalling 16 kills, with Stephen Porras (14) and Parker Oldham (10) also reaching double figures. Oldham hit an efficient .533 in his first match as a member of the Navy and Gold. Aleksa Bijelic put up 38 assists along with seven digs. Gary Baker added seven assists and had the team-high digs with 15. Oldham and Joao Victor Santos chipped in a solo block each, along with a block assist from Oldham. James Fulton helped the defensive effort with two block assists. Castro also led the team with two service aces.
The Navy and Gold return to action Saturday, Jan. 13 at Lees-McRae College. First serve is scheduled for 12:00 p.m.
