Coker Drops Match to Division I NJIT
The Coker men's volleyball team fell to the New Jersey Institute of Technology on Thursday (Feb. 19) night.
NEWARK, N.J. – The Coker men's volleyball team dropped a 3-1 match to the New Jersey Institute of Technology on Thursday (Feb. 19) night.
The Highlanders would take set one, but Coker would knot the match up 1-all with a 25-21 win in the second set. In a tightly contested third set, NJIT would squeak out a 26-24 set victory and use the momentum to take set four 25-18 and the match 3-1.
Artur Cabral knocked home 13 kills and four service aces to lead the Cobras. Luke Hansen registered nine kills and five digs, while Jared Geizer added eight kills and six digs. Jesse Day led the defense with seven digs and Aleksa Bijelic paced the offense with 26 assists.
The Cobras will have a quick turnaround as they continue their east coast road trip with Division I opponent Princeton on Friday (Feb. 20) night. The match is scheduled for a 7 p.m. start.
