Cobras Open The Spring Season at Alan Connie Shamrock Invitational

The Coker University Men's Track & Field team, traveled to Myrtle Beach, SC, to open their season at the Alan Connie Shamrock Invitational. The meet would see the Cobras facing off against athletes from all levels of competition.

100m Prelims

In the 100m prelims, Coker would send four runners to the track. Finishing first for not only the Cobras but for the 100m Prelims was Donovan Jones, who would qualify for the semis with a time of 10.69. Braeden Rasco was the second Cobra to finish, crossing the line with a time of 12.38. Cephus Deas would be the next Cobra to cross the finish line, crossing with a time of 12.81. Rounding out the 100m prelims for the Cobras would be Yahir Perez-Lora, who would finish with a time of 13.06.

100m Semis

In the 100m Semis, Yazeare Pearsall-Garcia would finish first for the Cobras, and fourth overall with a time of 10.59, which qualifies him for the 100m finals tomorrow. Finishing second for the Cobras was Jeffery Stiles, earning seventh overall with a time of 10.66, Stiles would also qualify for tomorrow's 100m finals race. Donovan Jones would wrap up a strong 100m semis for the Cobras finishing 11th overall with a time of 10.73, which would set a PR for Jones in the 100m.

800m (Open)

In the 800m open, Coker would send Nicholas Hallis to the track, who would finish with a time of 2:26.09.

1 Mile (Open)

In the 1 mile open, Coker would see Austin Bates finish first for the Cobras and fourth overall, setting a PR time of 4:47.17. Josh Zeigler would round out the field for the Cobras placing 11th overall with a time of 4:53.57.

Javelin Throw

In Javelin, Coker would see Luke Baker finish first for the Cobras throwing a distance of 41.39m (135-09). Rounding out the Javelin Throw for the Cobras would be William Frazier, who would throw a distance of 39.13 (128-04).

Coker will look to ride the waves of momentum heading into the final day of the Alan Shamrock Invitational tomorrow, March 16th, with the first event beginning at 9:00am.
