Baker Breaks Indoor Pole Vault Record On Day 1 OF SAC Indoor Championship

The Coker University Men's Track & Field team traveled to the JDL Fast Track to compete in the first day of the SAC Indoor Championship meet.

60m Prelims

In the 60m Prelims, Coker would send out Jeffery Stiles and Yazare Pearsall-Garcia to the track. Both men would finish within one spot of each other and .01 seconds separated the two's times. Stiles would cross the line first in finishing 11th overall with a time of 6.94, while Pearsall-Garcia would finish in 12th with a time of 6.95.

200m Prelims

In the 200m Prelims, Pearsall and Stiles would get the call again for the Cobras. Pearsall would cross the line 5th overall with a time of 22.29 which qualifies him for the finals tomorrow. Stiles would finish with a time of 22.93.

400m Prelims

The 400m Prelims saw another Cobra qualify for the finals on the second day, as Donovan Jones would place 8th overall with a time of 51.33.

Distance Medley

In the Distance Medley, Coker would send out the team of Austin Bates, Donovan Jones, Phillip Davis, and Josh Zeigler, who would combine for a time of 11:24.08.

In the Field

Pole Vault

In Pole Vault, Coker would see not only a top-ten finish from Luke Baker but also a school record-breaking performance from Baker. As Baker was able to vault a height of 3.51m (11-06.25), placing 9th overall, and beating his old record by .01m (3.50m).
