How It Happened
A 3-6 loss on courts two and three ended a great match on court one prematurely as the Cobras lost the doubles point and fell down 0-1 to the Trojans. In singles, it was much closer than the final score says. Two matches were still ongoing with the Cobras holding opportunities to take each court. Unfortunately, the Cobras lost three singles courts before those could finish out. One of those three losses was in a heartbreaking third-setter, and it things had swung a different way then the Cobras could've easily come away with a victory in their conference opener.
Notables
- Winter is having a stellar season from the three and four spots, only dropping one singles match in seven matches played
- Vossen, the freshman playing on court two, is quietly coming into his own. After starting out the season unable to play with an injury, he is quickly learning what it takes to play in the SAC and easily could've won today if his match played out.
Up Next
The Cobras will head back out on the road on Saturday for a 1:00 PM ET first serve against Mount Olive.
