By The Numbers:
Final Score: FMU 5, Coker 2
Records: Coker 1-2 (0-0 SAC), FMU 2-0, (0-0 Conference Carolinas)
Location: Florence, SC
Top Performers
Andy Huynh: 6-3, 7-6 (5) win at fifth singles
How It Happened:
The Cobras used a huge doubles point victory to climb to a 1-0 lead over the Patriots. A loss at one doubles did not matter as Huyhn paired up with Joao Casas Moreira to get a 6-1 win at the three spot while Samuel Winter and Benedikt Wittmann paired up to get a 6-3 win at the two spot.
The Cobras quickly found themselves in a hole, dropping quick straight-setters at one and two singles. Unfortunately, the same occurred at three and six singles which secured the win for FMU. Huynh grabbed the lone singles win at five singles, clinching a straight-set victory through a second-set tiebreak. There was a battle at four singles that lasted into a third set, but the Cobras were outlasted in that one by the Patriots.
Notables
- Huynh remains undefeated on the season, etching a perfect 6-0 (three wins each in doubles and singles) through the first three dual matches of the season!
