How It Happened
As always, the match opened up with doubles play. Winter partnered with Benedikt Wittmann at second doubles to secure a 6-2 win, and Casas partnered with Huynh at third doubles to secure the doubles point with a 6-3 win.
Up 1-0 headed into singles play, the Cobras needed wins at three of the six singles spots to secure the victory. After a loss at the second singles spot tied it at 1-1, Winter dominated at the third spot to take the lead back at 2-1. Tied 2-2 after a loss at first singles, Huynh took care of business at the five spot to make this a 3-2 lead in favor of the Cobras. Only needing one more court to take the match, courts four and six found themselves competing in three-setters. Thankfully, Casas pulled out the victory at the six spot to take home a great road win for the Cobras.
