WINTER AND HUYNH NAMED "ATHLETES TO WATCH" FOR THE 2025 SEASON
Rock Hill, SC - In a release put out this morning by the South Atlantic Conference, Men's Tennis athletes Samuel Winter and Andy Huynh were named "Athletes to Watch" for the 2025 season.
Samuel Winter | SR
Winter, a senior hailing from the UK, is on track to have a breakout season for the Cobras. In 2024, he amassed a 16-17 record in dual matchplay, going 6-9 in singles and 10-8 in doubles. However, this season has started off hot. In the fall, Winter found himself in a singles and/or doubles final on more than one occasion, winning a couple as well. He has shown the poise to have a stellar season in his last year of competition for Coker Men's Tennis.
Andy Huynh | JR
Huynh, a junior hailing from The Netherlands, had a solid 2024 campaign, specifically in the doubles category. He amassed a 16-12 record in dual match play, going 4-10 in singles and a whopping 12-2 in doubles. He has also had a stellar fall, finishing in the finals in multiple invitationals and having a solid doubles showing at the ITAs. He will look to build off a good season last year to vault the Cobras even further into SAC playoff contention.
The season for the Cobras starts Wednesday, February 5th, when they take on Augusta here on campus at the Coker Tennis Courts at 1:00 PM ET. Conference play begins later that month on the 26th, heading to Anderson to face off against the Trojans at 1:30 PM ET.
