Men's Tennis Falls To Augusta In Road Contest

Augusta, GA - The Coker Men's Tennis team had yet another match where the final score didn't tell the whole story as they fell to Augusta 7-0 on the road.

The duo of Tom Lamers and Thibaut Decaluwe opened up the day with a 6-2 win at first doubles to pick up some momentum for the Cobras. However, both second and third doubles fell to Augusta, and the doubles point went in favor of the Jaguars.

Although Augusta swept the singles competition, there were two matches that went to three sets but fell in favor of the Jaguars. Decaluwe fell to his opponent in a heartbreaker at second singles by a score of 0-6, 7-5, 6-7 (3), while Samuel Winter won his first set 6-2 but dropped the second and third 2-6, 5-7 to drop his match,

Men's tennis will be back in action a week from today in their home opener against Francis Marion. First serve for that match is scheduled for 3:00 PM.
