Cobras Grind Out 4-3 Victory over Augusta on Friday

HARTSVILLE, S.C. - The Coker University men's tennis team grinded out a 4-3 non-conference victory over Augusta on Friday (Feb. 21).

Coker swept doubles play for one point, before winning three out of six singles matches for the victory. Tim Schroeder and Justus Lehmann teamed up for a 6-3 win over Herrick Isagoto and Ricard Rubio at No. 1 doubles, before Carlos Pinedo and Luis de Vuyst defeated Lucas Bolle and Alvero Quereda 7-5 at No. 2 doubles. Hunter Horton and Isaac MacMillan would finish off doubles play with a 7-6 win over Martin Hurtado and Kevin Corinstein at No. 3.

Lehmann defeated Bolle 7-5, 3-6, 6-3 at No. 2 singles, while Pinedo posted a 6-4, 3-6, 6-2 victory over Hurtado at No. 5 singles. MacMillan closed things out with a 6-1, 6-0 straight-set win over Quereda at No. 6 singles.

Coker (2-0) is back on the court on Sunday (Feb. 23) to take on Johnson C. Smith at home. First serve is set for 12:00 p.m.
