Cobras Take Down Lions in Road SAC Match

Coker men's tennis picked up a conference win at Mars Hill on Tuesday.

MARS HILL, N.C.- Coker men's tennis defeated Mars Hill 8-1 on Tuesday (Apr. 4) in South Atlantic Conference action.

The Navy and Gold swept doubles play starting with an 8-5 win at No. 1 by Felix Schweyer and Simon Bergbom. Henrik Hellbe and Hunter Horton earned an 8-1 win at No. 2, while Mark Watt and Dominic Allan won 8-5 at No. 3.

Watt went on to take the No. 1 singles match in straight sets (6-0, 6-1) while Schweyer won at No. 3 6-4, 6-1. Horton posted a 6-2, 6-2 win at No. 4, and Bergbom picked up a 6-4, 6-3 win at No. 5. Allan won at No. 6 in three sets 3-6, 6-1, 10-8 to finish off the win.

The Cobras return home on Saturday (Apr. 8) to take on Wingate in South Atlantic Conference action. First serve is set for 1:00 pm at the Coker tennis courts.
