Cobras Fall in Close Match at Newberry
The Cobras picked up two wins in doubles play and two in singles play.
NEWBERRY, S.C.- Coker men's tennis dropped a close contest to Newberry 5-4 in South Atlantic Conference play on Wednesday (Feb. 17).
Coker took two of three in doubles play, with the team of Simon Bergom and Henrik Hellbe notching a 9-8 (7-4) win at No. 1. The duo of Tom Sizeland and Mark Watt followed up with an 8-5 win at No. 2. Sizeland would also record a 6-2, 6-3 win at No. 3 singles, while Felix Schweyer won 7-5 and 6-3 at No. 5.
The Cobras will hit the courts again next Thursday (Feb. 25) when they travel to Francis Marion. The action begins at 2:00 p.m.
