Cobras Capture 6-3 SAC Win Over Tornados
The Coker men's tennis team picked up a 6-3 SAC win over the Tornados of Brevard College on Saturday (Mar. 21).
HARTSVILLE, S.C. – The Coker men's tennis team picked up a decisive 6-3 South Atlantic Conference victory over the Tornados of Brevard College on Saturday (Mar. 21).
The Cobras got the day rolling with winning two of three doubles matches. Notching the wins were William Marrafao and Simon Bergbom with an 8-6 win at No. 1 doubles and Zach Grooms and Dominic Allan with a 9-8 (7-4) win at No. 3 doubles.
Marrafao would keep the magic going for the Cobras, winning 6-1, 7-5 at No. 1 singles, while Bergbom won 6-2, 6-3 at No. 2 singles. Mark Watt captured a 6-4, 6-4 win at No. 3 singles and Allan picked up a No. 6 singles win with a score of 6-1, 6-0.
The Cobras will have a quick turnaround as they face the Royals of Queens University of Charlotte on Sunday (Mar. 22). The match is scheduled for a 2 p.m. start at the Coker Tennis Courts.
