No. 35 Cobras Beat Anderson 6-3 in SAC Opener
The Coker men's tennis team picked up a 6-3 victory over Anderson (S.C.) on Saturday (Feb. 22) in its SAC opener.
HARTSVILLE, S.C. – The No. 35 nationally ranked Coker men's tennis team picked up a 6-3 victory over Anderson University on Saturday (Feb. 22) in South Atlantic Conference tennis action.
The Cobras opened the match by taking two-of-three during doubles play. Andre Staab and James Corfield were victorious at No. 1, 9-8 (7-4), while William Marrafao and Martin Moncayo bagged an 8-5 win at No. 2.
Picking wins in singles action were Staab at No. 1, Tom Sizeland at No. 2, Marrafao at No. 3 and Moncayo at No. 5.
The Cobras will be back on the courts this upcoming Thursday (Feb. 27) when they host the Indians of Catawba College in a South Atlantic Conference showdown. First serve is scheduled for 2 p.m.
