Coker Falls to Division I Presbyterian
The Coker men's tennis team suffered a 6-1 loss to Division I Presbyterian College on Saturday (Mar. 16).
CLINTON, S.C. – The Coker men's tennis team suffered a 6-1 loss to Division I Presbyterian College on Saturday (Mar. 16) afternoon. The loss drops the Cobras to 8-3 overall.
After dropping the three doubles matches, the Coker men played six hard fought singles matches, but only managed one victory. James Corfield picked up a three-set victory at No. 5 singles. After losing the first set of the match 6-4, Corfield swept the next two sets, winning in straight sets 6-0, 6-0.
Even though they lost their matches, Tom Sizeland and Martin Moncayo sent their matches to three sets. Sizeland suffered a 6-3, 2-6, 7-6 loss at No. 2 and Moncayo lost at No. 6, 6-7, 6-1, 1-0 (11-9).
The Cobras will be back in action on Sunday (Mar. 17) in a Conference Carolinas match at Queens University of Charlotte at noon.
