Cobra Tennis Teams Set to Take on FMU
The Coker men's and women's tennis teams play host to local rival Francis Marion on Sunday (Feb. 10) in their 2013 home opener.
HARTSVILLE, S.C. – The Coker men's and women's tennis teams will play their first home matches of the 2013 season on Sunday (Feb. 10) against local rival Francis Marion University.
The Cobras will be returning home for the first time after starting the season with three consecutive road matches at Anderson, Lander and Benedict. Led by junior James Corfield, the Coker men earned a huge 6-3 win over regionally ranked Anderson to start the season. Tom Sizeland also earned a big individual win against the No. 19 ranked singles player in the southeast region from Lander.
Francis Marion enters the matches ranked nationally and regionally. The Patriot men are ranked No. 20 in the ITA Division II National Poll and are ranked No. 6 in the southeast region. The women's team is ranked No. 10 nationally and No. 3 in the southeast region.
The matches are set to begin at 1 p.m. at the Coker Tennis Courts.
