
Magennis Tabbed As Next Head Coach For Men’s Soccer
Stephen Magennis announced as next head coach for Coker Men’s Soccer
HARTSVILLE, SC. - Coker University has named Stephen Magennis as its head men's soccer coach, Dr. Lynn Griffin vice president of athletics and athletic facilities announced today.
"I am excited to welcome Coach Magennis to Coker as our head men's soccer coach" said Griffin. "Stephen has been part of successful programs at Georgia Gwinnett College and Lander University as an assistant coach. I look forward to watching him build on the success of our men's soccer program".
Magennis comes to Coker after spending the last nine seasons with Georgia Gwinnett College as the assistant coach. During his time with the Grizzlies, Magennis helped coach 10+ NAIA All-Americans, 30+ All-Conference players, and helped 7 players sign professional contracts. The staff at Georgia Gwinnett was also twice named to the NAIA Southeast Staff of the year.
His most recent duties at Georgia Gwinnett included recruiting, coaching, training, and supporting head coach Steve DeCou.
Magennis also made stops at Lander University where he almost doubled their roster size, Summerville Soccer Club being the Technical Director, Georgia Revolution in the NPSL as their head coach, and Athens FC in the USL 2 as their head coach.

Stephen graduated from Lander University in 2009 with a Bachelor of Science. He later added a Master's Degree in Education in Sports Science while at Lander. He is a native of Dublin, Ireland.
