
THREE COBRAS GARNER ALL-REGION ACCOLADES
Salisbury, NC - The awards just keep flooding in for men's soccer, as the Cobras had three athletes named to the D2CCA Southeast All-Region team, the organization announced this afternoon.
The lone first-team honor was for none other than senior defender Matty Tricker. The captain, leader, First-Team All-SAC honoree, and the SAC Defensive Player of the Year has continued to be recognized for his stellar play. He was also named a SAC Defensive Player of the Week along with recording five points (two goals, one assist) on the season.
Coker also had two players named to the second team: freshman forward Oskar Kaufmann and junior midfielder Jorhan Chopin. Kaufmann had a stellar rookie campaign for the Cobras, leading the team in points (31) and goals (12) to go along with seven assists. For his efforts, he was named the SAC Freshman of the Year along with Second-Team All-SAC. Chopin also had a great first season in a Cobra uniform, earning First-Team All-SAC honors while recording three goals on the season.
The season isn't quite over yet for the Cobras, and these three will look to continue their stellar play into the NCAA Sweet Sixteen on Sunday. Stay tuned to the website for a game preview and more information!
