Jacques Fokam-Sandeu Named CoSIDA First Team Academic All-America® Selection

AUSTIN, TEXAS - Coker University men's soccer junior forward Jacques Fokam-Sandeu has been selected to the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Academic All-America® First Team, announced by the organization today (Thursday, Dec. 9).

Fokam-Sandeu led the Cobras in goals (14), assists (six) and points (34) this season, helping the Cobras to the program's first-ever South Atlantic Conference tournament championship and the program's second NCAA tournament berth. Fokam-Sandeu finished the season tied for the SAC lead in goals, tied for fifth in assists and first in the league in points. Fokam-Sandeu was named to the SAC All-Conference First Team, the All-Tournament Team and also earned the tournament's Most Valuable Player award. Most recently, he was named First Team All-Region by United Soccer Coaches and Second Team All-Region by the Division II Conference Commissioner's Association (D2CCA).

In his career, Fokam-Sandeu was also named to the 2019 SAC All-Conference First Team. Academically, he has been named to the 2021 CoSIDA Academic All-District First Team, and also received the 2020-21 Division II Athletic Directors' Association (D2 ADA) Academic Achievement Award. He has also received the South Atlantic Conference Commissioner's Honor Roll twice (2019-20, 2020-21).

This is Fokam-Sandeu's first career Academic All-America® selection. The Paris, France native is the son of Jean, and is a business administration major with a concentration in entrepreneurship.
