Rock Hill, S.C. - Coker University freshman defender Bastiaan Jager has been named the South Atlantic Conference AstroTurf Defensive Player of the Week, announced by the league today (Tuesday, Oct. 19). 

Jager helped the Cobras go 2-0 last week, with wins over Wingate and No. 9 Limestone. He scored the game-winning goal against No, 9 Limestone from a recycled bicycle kick.

This is Jager's first career Player of the Week honor. The Wildebank, Netherlands native is the son Meindert and Margriet Jager, and is a communications major. 

The Cobras return to action, seeking their third consecutive victory on Wednesday (Oct. 20) when they host Shaw University in a non-conference match. Kickoff is set for 4:30 p.m., with video and live stats available at www.cokerocbras.com.
