No. 7 Men’s Soccer Wins Thriller Over Francis Marion

FLORENCE, S.C. - No. 7 Coker Men's Soccer posted a big 4-3 victory over Francis Marion University in non-conference action on Wednesday (Sept. 15).

The Patriots would strike early on in the first off of a free kick from 21 yards out to put them up 1-0 in the 12th minute. 

Coker would strike back and get the equalizer from Jacques Fokam-Sandeu's goal from Alex Doulos in the 38th minute. The teams would head into halftime tied 1-1. 

In the second half, Coker would take the lead in the 55th minute from Jacques Fokam-Sandeu's header from Gustavo Palmieri, putting Coker up 2-1.

Francis Marion would tie things right back up in the 72nd minute off of a loose ball in the box.

Coker's Felix Stoeffler would intercept a Patriot pass and score from 21 yards out to put Coker back on top in the 73rd minute, bringing the match score to 3-2.

The Patriots would quickly tie the game back up in the 78th minute to make it thee all with just 12 minutes left to play. 

Coker's Alex Dulous would net the game-winner assisted by Adam Kennedy and Bastiaan Jager in the 87th minute to push the Cobras to victory and remain undefeated. 

Jasper Rump (4-0-0) picked up his fourth collegiate win between the pipes, recording one save in the match. Coker outshot the Patriots in the match 16-8.

The Cobras (4-0) return to action this weekend (Sept. 18) as they travel to Lincoln Memorial University in conference action. Kick-off is set for 3:30 p.m. from Harrogate, Tenn. with video and live stats available at www.cokercobras.com.
