Second Half Surge Propels Cobras Past Royals in SAC Match
CHARLOTTE, N.C. - The visiting Coker College men's soccer team picked up a 2-1 victory over the Queens University Royals on Saturday (Oct. 21) night in South Atlantic Conference play.

The Cobras and Royals opened up the contest with tough defensive play and headed into the half at a scoreless tie.

After a scoreless first half, the Cobras came out of the locker room aggressive by breaking the scoreless match off a goal from Aladdin Elfares in the 52nd minute. Shortly after, Queens responded with a header to tie the match in the 67th minute.

However, the Navy and Gold applied offensive pressure during the second half and gained the lead from a perfectly placed score off a header from Cameron McDonald. Chris Bordelon delivered the accurate cross inside the box for the go-ahead-goal.

Elfares and McDonald led the way offensively for the Cobras with one goal a piece. Other Cobras registering shots included Bordelon, Steffen Husum, and Joao Silva. Justin Walker finished the 90 minutes only allowing one goal.

Coker will be back in action on Wednesday (Oct. 25) when they host non-conference foe Barton College at 7 p.m. on the Coker Athletic Field.
